In 2021, the Generg Group entrusted Centralmed with the mission of managing the occupational health and safety (OHS) areas. Currently, this Group, which provides renewable energy to about one million inhabitants, has a very promising assessment of this partnership. One of the positive aspects is certainly the importance of creating a safer work environment for all its employees.
What is Generg and what was its challenge?
“Development and progress are compatible with environmental conservation”: this is the motto that serves as the central pillar of Generg’s mission. The company was founded in 1988 with the aim of producing electricity sustainably from renewable sources.
Harnessing the energy of water, wind, and sun, Generg thus aims to enhance national endogenous resources. Through the clean energy they produce, they seek to contribute to domestic well-being and the development of the Portuguese industrial fabric. They claim, in this way, to avoid the annual emission of almost 500,000 tons of CO₂ into the atmosphere.
Before establishing the partnership with Centralmed, the company faced serious difficulties in maintaining satisfactory (and stable) quality standards in the OHS area. They sought, therefore, support to build a solid and lasting safety culture.
